You're spoiled for choice in Waikiki, from budget friendly all the way up to 5 star dining. These are our top picks for delicious food, cold drinks and great atmosphere as well as family favourites and where to get a quick and cheap fix. American menus are a little different to Aussie ones so check out our eating out guide for all the tips and tricks we have to share to get the most out of your dining budget.
Our pricing guides are based on March 2020 pricing for dinner and are to be used as a guide only. Lunch and breakfasts are often cheaper and since meals are often large, some dinners can be shared easily. Pricing also doesn't include a tip which will traditionally add another 20% to the total bill.

Cheesecake Factory |
Located in the centre of Waikiki, The Cheesecake Factory is a favorite for Aussies. The menu is huge, as are the meals and the quality is great. Appetisers can be massive as are their mains so be careful ordering both. Always save room for desert, their namesake cheesecake is to die for. |

California Pizza Kitchen |
Pizza Chain - Good pizza and pasta, can get very busy, so get in early. Take out is a quick option and is great to take a pizza back to the hotel late in the day. Pizza’s aren’t huge, but you can share if you’re ordering an appetiser as well. |

American and 100 beers on tap! Great food with lots of options, again, large portion sizes so probably don’t need appetisers and mains, or at least share appetisers. Can get very busy so go early or be prepared to wait. |

Food here was average the last time we went, felt like a big dining hall / food court – I think you can do much better for the price – I would give this a miss unless you really wanted to try the beer. |

Average food, average service. We went when it wasn’t very busy, got seated straight away but then had to wait ages for food and it didn’t all come at once. Wouldn’t go back when there are so many other great options |

Il Lupino |
Great food and an extensive wine selection. I would call this more of a special occasion restaurant, not an everyday one. Can be pricey depending on what you ordered - $48 for a lamb dish but only $28 for a platter of 6 really high quality meats and cheeses with accompaniments. Breakfast was average. Recommended for dinner only. |

Barefoot bar and Restaurant. Right on the beach with a view of Diamond Head makes it great for sunset. They often live music at night. Very busy. Food is nice but just burgers etc, good for a once off with drinks. |

Amazing! Breakfast is special, silver service, they call you by name, nothing is too much trouble. Direct views of Diamond Head and the ocean. Breakfast is ala carte or they have a $39 (USD) set breakfast with tea / coffee, juice, American breakfast (or vegetarian or Japanese), fruit and toast or a pastry. It’s a little pricy for breakfast but a great experience that I recommend for everyone, especially for a special occasion. No need to be super dressed up it is a posh hotel so dress accordingly. Haven’t been for dinner. |

Halekulani Hotel – At the end of Lewers Street, on the beach. You have to walk through the hotel, you might need directions, it’s a big hotel. |
The House without a Key |
Evening cocktails on the lawn, Hula dancers, Hawaiian music and the sunset... Bliss and a must do. |

Dennys |
American staple – open 24 hours. We often go here for a toasted sandwich or a basic burger or breakfast. As an example, French toast with bacon is $4. Go here if you just want something quick and easy (and cheap) for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. |
