DISNEY AULANI

HOTEL  //  CONDO  // FAMILY FAVORITE

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Disney themed, great for kids and Disney addicts alike
  • Lots of variety of rooms from hotel through to condos
  • New, purpose built resort with lots of luxury touches
  • A cool water park right in the middle of the resort including lazy river, pools, water slides, kids area and splash pad, spa's and adults only areas
  • Its own saltwater lagoon for snorkeling
  • On one of Ko Olina's ocean fed lagoons, home to turtles and the occasional sea lion
  • Meet Mickey, Minnie and friends around the resort including at the daily pool parties
  • Great themed breakfast where you can meet Mickey and friends up close
  • Restaurants on site all themed to the Hawaiian culture
  • Amazing kids club (if you can tear them away from the pools) and a dedicated Teen club
  • Beautiful day spa with Hawaiian treatments
  • Free Luau on selected nights, you can bring a picnic!
  • Within walking distance from Ko Olinas small group of restaurants
  • Lots of amenities included in your room rate
  • Easy access to the North Shore and shopping outlets

THINGS TO BE AWARE OF

  • Its Disney...so be prepared to pay a lot to stay here
  • Food choices on site is one of the most common complaints, there isn't a lot of choice, especially if staying for longer than a few days
  • Ko Olina is a very small enclave of hotels with a small restaurant strip so food choices outside the hotel are limited as well
  • The pool area can get hectic, you'll need to get down to the pool early if you want to get a spot close to the water
  • Prepare before you go, there's lots to see and do in this resort but you may need to book in advance so you don't miss out

OUR TIPS

  • Don't pay to stay here if you're planning on touring the island, its only worth the cost if you use all the amenities. Only stay a couple of nights to get the Disney experience and then move on.
  • You can purchase a travel mug from various locations around the resort for USD$ 18.99 and then get free refills at stations all over the resort. Refills include soft drink (coke, lemonade etc), tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water for your entire stay (Do it as soon as you check in, its worth it!)
  • If you think you want the kids to use the kids club, register before you get there to ensure they get a spot, you don't have to book them in, just register
  • You can get snacks etc at the nearby Costco or Target to have poolside.
  • There is a treasure hunt you can do  called the Menehune Adventure Trail (get it from the Pau Hana community hall in the resort), its interactive and it will take you all over the resort. Its a great first day activity to see everything the resort has to offer
  • Don't miss the character breakfast, its a must but you will need a booking, make sure you book as soon as you know what dates you will be at the resort to avoid missing out.
  • There's lots of other opportunities to meet characters throughout the resort, look out for the daily schedule
